1st week in Reno

As of Saturday Mack and I have officially been in Reno for a week. The first couple of days were a bit rocky. He pooped in my apartment twice, in my room. He barked at everyone and everything including; Cody, Sarah, downstairs neighbors, upstairs neighbors, space heater, 2 separate lamps, the shower, and any passing car. Needless to say this last week has been quite noisy. I took Mack on several walks all in different places. I've learned that he is non-aggressive when I am not holding him and/or not on the leash. I've learned that he cannot be off the leash if there are moving cars within 50 yards of him. I started taking him to the dog park on Thursday of last week. The first day I went with one of my friends and her girlfriends dog, Brandy. Mack was on his leash and I had to put his muzzle on him so he would not bark, growl, or try to bite Brandy and the other dogs at the park. He seemed like he really wanted to play and run with the other dogs but I didn't know if he would come if I called him. The next day we went again with Cody. I let Mack off the leash far away from the parking lot and the road. It was amazing, he ran and sniffed other dogs. He even tried to play with some of the other dogs. So everyday since then I have taken him back there, he enjoys all the smells and the other dogs, though he is still weary of other dogs. He has a couple of dog friends there that he loves to play with, Pocket a black and tan rat terrier, Zeke a grey hound/german shepard mix, and Zed a black Chow Chow. I took him to the park today and he was playing with Zed and another bigger dog came running toward him and scared him. Mack ran and hid under Zed blending in with his fur it was quite funny. I will continue to take Mack to the dog park he really seems to like it there!!!

My first meeting with Mack

The week before Halloween I called my aunt to try to get a hold of my mother. My aunt had some exciting news that she wanted to toss around with me. She had gone to her local dog shelter in northern Michigan and she saw two very little Doxie puppies, one boy and one girl. The boy was long haired and the girl was short haired. She told me that I would just love these dogs because she knows how I feel about little dogs. My aunt was excited and we talked about her getting me these two puppies for my college graduation present. We talked it over and I agreed. The next day she got the puppies and brought them home with her, she sent me email pictures and asked me to come up with a name for them. After much consideration I came up with the names Mack and Molly.
Over the next 2 and 1/2 months she crate trained and potty trained the two puppies for me. She continued to send me pictures and updates often. In January I flew to Michigan to meet my dogs and to take them home with me. Upon ariving Mack and I connected immediatly, Molly and I did not fair to well with each other. I spent a week at my aunts house with the dogs. Durring this time we all noticed that Molly and Mack were no longer getting along. My aunt and I made the tough decision for me to only take Mack and for her to keep Molly.
